Darrell had been in the restaurant and catering business for many years when he bought Cookies, Cupcakes and More from a friend in 2014. The bakery quickly outgrew its space, so when Darrell learned about a larger space available on Water Ave., he jumped at the chance to have enough space for a full-time staff and on-site tastings. While the bakery has a new name--Sugar Street Bakery and Bistro—the quality, affordability and friendly service remain the same. Darrell says, “Knowing that you are taking care of people, feeding them good food and making people happy is gratifying.”


Cakes are made, but cake makers like Jordyn are born. This self-taught baker extraordinaire has been delighting clients for years with her talent for amazingly delicious gourmet cakes, cupcakes and cookies that look incredible, taste even better and come in on budget. Whether it’s making zombie cupcakes for a birthday or four-tier fondant wedding cake etched with intricate lace, Jordyn loves her job and it shows: “I get to make a mess everyday, wake up with a smile, experiment and make things out of sugar.”


Mike was attending a wedding with a ‘friend’ and noticed Darrell was having trouble with his catering staff. He offered to jump in and created a beautiful fruit and vegetable platter. After the wedding he learned that his ‘friend’ was Darrell’s sister. After 20 years in sales, Mike was ready to “deal with people who are happy, and have fun serving them”, so he married Darrell’s sister and joined the team. He’s now the Kitchen Manager and enjoys doing the cooking, creating menus and making soups from scratch.

Cookies, Cupcakes and More was born in 2011 in a little kitchen in West Linn, but quickly outgrew the little space. In late 2015, we made the move to Water Avenue. To celebrate our new, larger full-time home, we renamed ourselves Sugar Street Bakery & Bistro. But we've kept our commitment to high-quality gourmet food, with down-to-earth customer service and prices.
